How big was Game Developers Conference 2010? According to organizers, big enough to set "an all-time record" for the event.
Besides giving the first look of Sony's PlayStation Move, the Game Developers Conference hosted a slew of workshops and panels which involved the most knowledgeable people in the business.
GDC also included many previews for upcoming games; some of which will be released in 2010. No doubt, it has grown to become a most interesting facet of our medium, and with this year, it has specifically grown even more.
Organizers of the Games Developer Conference reported today that "an all-time record" was set for the industry event that was held in San Francisco, California last weekend. About 18,250 people attended, most of whom were industry professionals, beating 17,000, the record that was set in 2009.
For the most part this year's GDC was a success, and the news that came from it has helped to shape some of the major themes to keep watching out for in 2010. How will Microsoft's and Sony's attempts to branch out into the Nintendo-dominated motion controlled field turn out?
We already got a glimpse at what Sony has with The PlayStation Move, now it is Microsoft's turn at bat with The Natal; assumably in June at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo.
